OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Baptist opened the season with a 6-3 win over Washburn with the newest Lady Bison making a big statement.
Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg swept NCAA Division II's top-ranked Madeline Hill, 7-6, 6-3. Hill won the ITA Division II championship in the fall.
"We were excited about Rouxanne, but the thing about her is she didn't care about that; she was more excited about the team win," said OBU Coach
Peter McCorkle. "That's something we can brag about, but we were all just really more excited for the team win."

Olivia Charvat claimed No. 2 singles at 7-5, 6-2.
Kim Moosbacher won at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1, and
Alex Bowers took fifth singles, 6-2, 6-2.

Madeleine Boepple took No. 2 doubles, 8-2, with Bowers and
Alex Morales winning at No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
"I was really impressed with Alex and Alex," said McCorkle. "We knew how good they are at No. 1 doubles and we've come to expect what Madeleine and Olivia did. No. 3 doubles was really impressive today."
OBU returns to action Friday at No. 20 Drury.
