Four Lady Bison Earn All-Region Honors

2017 United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region Teams

SHAWNEE – Four Lady Bison have earned United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region honors after Oklahoma Baptist enjoyed a stellar first season as members of Division II, the USC offices announced yesterday from their offices in Kansas City, Missouri. It's the first time any Lady Bison have made the all-region list in the Division II era.

Emmily Infante led the Lady Bison as the squad's lone first team selection. Jennifer Goethe and Ruth King were named to the second team, while Hannah White took home third team honors.

Infante, a junior from Mexico City, Mexico, started all but one of OBU's 20 matches this season. She tallied four goals while handing out five assists, the third-most in the GAC this year. Infante adds her First Team All-Central Region honors to her First Team All-Great American Conference honors already earned this season, and is eligible for the United Soccer Coaches All-America squads.

Goethe, a junior from Shawnee, directed a backline that posted a GAC-best nine shutouts this season while limiting opponents to a conference-low 8.6 shots per match. While serving as captain, Goethe started every match for the Lady Bison while also contributing one goal and three assists in addition to her defensive responsibilities. This is the second regional team for Goethe this year after being named First Team D2CCA All-Central Region two weeks ago.

King, a sophomore from Shawnee, led OBU with 13 goals last season, the third-best mark in the GAC, while also ranking second in the league with seven assists. She started all 20 matches this season, and scored a season-high two goals against Northwestern Oklahoma State. This is the first time King's been named to the USC all-region squad, and the second time this season that she's achieved all-region status after being named D2CCA Second team All-Central Region earlier this year.

White, a freshman from Norman, scored seven goals and tallied four assists in her debut season on Bison Hill while starting all 20 matches. Five of her seven goals stood as match-winners, the second highest total in the GAC. This is her second all-region honor of the year after earning D2CCA First Team All-Central Region honors two weeks ago.
