SHAWNEE – The Great American Conference awarded two Oklahoma Baptist volleyball players All-GAC honors Wednesday night at the annual championship banquet in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Cadyn Laing earned First-Team status and
Mikayla Watson was named Second Team All-GAC.

Laing, a senior right-side hitter from Wichita Falls, Texas, was eighth in the GAC with 3.02 kills per set and posted the fifth-highest blocks average in the conference at 0.99 blocks per set. She paced the team with a .263 hitting percentage and her 122.0 total blocks rank fourth all-time in OBU program history. Laing was named GAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 9.

Watson is a redshirt freshman outside hitter from Whitesboro, Texas, that led the Lady Bison with 3.31 kills per set. She finished with a .233 hitting percentage and posted 3.42 digs per set, the most for any non-libero on the roster. Watson has 404 kills on the year, the eighth-best mark in Lady Bison history, and earned back-to-back GAC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 30 and Nov. 6.

OBU will make their first-ever appearance at the GAC Volleyball Championships against Ouachita on Thursday at noon.Â
