SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist senior
Cadyn Laing is the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Â
Laing, a native of Wichita Falls, Texas, helped the Lady Bison to a 2-1 week, including home conference victories over Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State. She matched the OBU season-high with 10 blocks in the win over Ouachita while picking up a double-double with 13 kills. The senior added five more blocks and 16 kills against the Reddies.
Â
Following the big week, Laing bumped her blocks per set average to 1.13, which ranks third in the GAC. The award is the second GAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for Laing, who won the award on Sept. 19 last season. She is the second Lady Bison to be honored by the GAC this year.
