Moosbacher, Shkot Advance to Semis

ROME, Ga. – Oklahoma Baptist's Kim Moosbacher and Kateryna Shkot advanced to the semifinals of the 2017 ITA Oracle Cup Thursday.

The doubles tandem, seeded third, knocked off North Georgia's Holly Bennett and Felicia Baratta, 6-2, 6-3.

OBU's duo meets Lena Dimmer and Alessia Rossetti of the New York Institute of Technology at 3:30 p.m. Friday for a chance to play for the national championship. Dimmer and Rossetti advanced by upsetting the No. 2 seed from Midwestern State.

Moosbacher and Shkot have only been partners for three weeks. Moosbacher was 24-1 in singles and 25-4 in doubles last year as a freshman. Shkot, who was a two-time ITA All-American at the NAIA level for OBU, sat out last season. In 2016, Shkot was 23-1 in doubles and 23-0 in singles.
