Two Former Bison Pitchers Recognized

SHAWNEE – Former Oklahoma Baptist pitchers Julian Merryweather and Taylor Hearn were honored by Baseball America for their fastballs.
 
With only the National League West remaining to be assessed by Baseball America, OBU is the lone four-year college to produce two "Best Fastball" pitchers.

Both were recognized in the publication's "Best Tools" section for best fastball in their respective minor league organizations.
 
Hearn plays for the West Virginia Power, the Low-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Merryweather pitches in the Cleveland Indians organization, most recently for the Akron Rubberducks in AA.
