RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist advanced to four winner's bracket singles finals after a successful Friday at the Great American Conference Women's Tennis Individual Championships.

The Lady Bison collected wins in nine singles matches and three doubles matches in the first day of the tournament, hosted by Arkansas Tech at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex.

OBU advanced to singles finals in flights two, three, four, and five after defeating other GAC opponents.

Madeleine Boepple won both of her singles matches in straight sets, and will face Thea Minor of Henderson State in the flight two singles final Saturday.

Freshman
Kim Moosebacher dominated both of her matches in flight three singles, and is set to take on Southern Nazarene's Anna Garcia in the final.

After a default win in her first match,
Alex Bowers won her second match (7-6 (3), 6-2) and will await Arielle Butler from Harding in the flight four singles final.

A tough first match for
Caroline Abbe (6-3, 2-6, 10-8) helped propel her past her semifinal opponent. Abbe faces ATU's Annabel Rowlands in the flight five singles final tomorrow.

Veronica Parra fell in her first match in flight seven singles, but rallied to win 8-6 and advance to the consolation semifinals. Parra will square off with Vandella Suico of Arkansas Tech.
Megan Bowlin also competed in flight seven singles, and was defeated in two matches.

Alex Morales were eliminated from flight one and flight six singles, respectively.

In flight two doubles, Abbe and Moosebacher won their first match over a team from Henderson State, and will face a pair from Arkansas Tech in the winner's bracket semifinal. Bowers and Morales also advanced to the semifinals in flight three doubles, and will take on Southern Nazarene.

Boepple and Charvat will compete in the flight one consolation bracket semifinals after splitting a pair of matches Friday. Bowlin and Parra dropped their first match, but will play for the flight four doubles consolation final.
