Lady Bison Fourth after Round One

Round One Results

EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist sits in fourth place after round one Monday at the NCCAA Women's Golf Central Regional.
 
The Lady Bison shot 339 as the host team on a very hot day at The Golf Club in Edmond, and trail Southwestern Christian by just four strokes midway through the regional.
 
After a 44 on the front nine, junior Kadrian Shelton posted a solid 39 on the back to finish tied for 12th place individually at 82 and pace OBU. Freshman Michelle Carr also played well on the back, posting a three-over 37 to shoot 84 and tie for 14th after the first round.
 
Emma Williams, the lone senior on a young Lady Bison squad, shot 84 to tie Carr. Elly Baze finished in 88 strokes, and Shannen Stewart posted an 89 on the opening round of the tournament.
 
Paige Neidy competed as an individual for OBU and shot 88, the third-best round among other individuals.
 
OBU will wrap up the regional Tuesday with a final 18 holes.
