SHAWNEE, Okla. – Kaylie Lane was chosen for the competition roster of FC Tulsa Spirit, and four more Lady Bison were chosen to compete on practice squads, as part of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).
The WPSL is the largest women's soccer league in the world, with well over 100 teams competing each summer. The league provides college-aged women the chance to enhance their skills and maintain their fitness levels during the summer months in preparation for collegiate competition. NCAA eligibility is not effected by playing in the WPSL.
Lane, a sophomore defender, has been added to the Spirit's roster for the 2016 season. She appeared in seven games as a freshman in 2015, including two starts, and accumulated 214 minutes of action. The Spirit finished eighth in the Big Sky Conference a season ago.
Senior defender
Kenzi Bice, as well as incoming freshman midfielder Kelsey Bumgarner, have been named to the practice squad for Oklahoma City FC. Bice started each of Oklahoma Baptist's 17 games last season, tallying one goal on five shots and providing two assists. Oklahoma City FC reached the semifinals of the WPSL Championship Tournament in 2015 after claiming the Big Sky Conference crown.
A pair of incoming freshmen from Liberty Christian School, defender Rachel Beiermann and midfielder Reagan Mann, were included on the practice roster for Texas Spurs FC. The Spurs finished fourth last year in the Big Sky.
