Lady Bison Finish Fall Schedule

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Baptist women's tennis finished up their fall schedule at the ITA Central Region Championships Monday afternoon.
 
The Lady Bison competed in singles and doubles against other top players in the region at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
 
Olivia Charvat, the No. 16 seed in the top women's singles flight, found success as she made it to the round of 16. She defeated two opponents in straight sets before falling to seventh-seeded Valenia Efimenko of Northeastern State in three sets.
 
Caroline Abbe advanced to the round of 16 in flight "B" singles after cruising to two wins. She fell to Nebraska-Kearney's Caryn Parnell in three sets to end her run.
 
Alex Morales started out with a loss, but then went on a hot streak in flight "B" singles. She ripped off three straight wins in the consolation bracket, but fell to Easton Parker of NSU in the semifinal round.
 
Freshman Kim Moosebacher finished 1-1, taking down NSU's Catlin McMullogh in straight sets, and falling to second-seeded Ali Hodges of Central Oklahoma.
 
Madeleine Boepple took a hard-fought match from Enna Neil of UNK before falling to top-seeded Kornelia Staniszeuska of Augustana.
 
After rallying to take down Fort Hays State's Natalie Lubbers in three sets, Alex Bowers fell to eighth-seeded Molly Worden of Northeastern State.
 
Moosebacher and Abbe teamed up in doubles, taking down a team from William Jewell 8-3 in to top flight before falling to the fifth-seeded Arkansas Tech team 8-4.
 
Charvat and Boepple swept a team from Northwest Missouri State in the top flight of doubles, only to drop the next match to the sixth-seeded team from Washburn 8-6.
 
The Lady Bison will face Washburn on Feb. 11 to open up the spring schedule.
