History! Bison STUNT Wins D2 National Title

CREVE COEUR, Mo. – Oklahoma Baptist STUNT had been knocking on the door as the top program in the country over the last few years. On Sunday afternoon on the campus of Missouri Baptist University, the green and gold broke through against rival Davenport, defeating the Panthers 16-15.

It was the program's first title, breaking a streak of runner-up finishes the previous three seasons.  The win also avenged last year's 16-13, title-game defeat to Davenport in Dallas.

"We are so incredibly proud of this team," Head Coach Jessica Stiles said afterward.

On top of this year's national title, the team finished with 14 wins, a program-best.

"The grit and fight displayed throughout the championship game by our team was incredible. This win is a culmination of a lot of hard work, and a lot of growth, all led by a group of seniors who have given this program everything they've had for the last four years."

Stiles added, "This win was for our seniors and so many alumni who have helped us grow in this new, emerging sport." Earlier this year, STUNT received approval as an NCAA emerging sport for Division I, II and III.

Among the seniors that helped the Bison, they were: Kinny Hacker, Addi Higgins, Paityn Johnston, Brielle Oliver, Lexi Sprenger, McKenna Trautwein, Ani Vazquez and Bella Vinyard.
