RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist senior linebacker
Jeremiah Jennings was named the Great American Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
He's the first Bison linebacker to earn the honor since Week 7 of the 2023 season when Scooter Baker was awarded.
Jennings' performance against Southern Arkansas this past weekend was sensational. He had a momentum-swinging 42-yard pick-six in the second quarter, blocked a punt, finished with seven tackles and notched 2.0 tackles-for-loss and a quarterback hurry. Of other significance, he's the first Bison player with a pick six and blocked punt in the same game.
The Bison and Jennings return to action on Saturday, Sept. 12 when they visit Henderson State (1-0) for a 6 p.m. kickoff in Arkadelphia, Ark.
