SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist volleyball begins its pursuit of another Great American Conference championship Tuesday when Southeastern Oklahoma State visits the Noble Complex for the league opener.
The Bison enter conference play with a 7-2 record after navigating a demanding opening stretch that included four nationally ranked opponents. OBU earned victories over then #19 West Texas A&M, then #15 Central Oklahoma and then #17 Missouri-St. Louis, giving the Bison three ranked wins through their first nine matches.
Tuesday's contest will be only OBU's second home match of the season. The Bison swept Central Oklahoma in their Noble Complex opener on Sept. 1 and own a 158-45 record on their home floor during head coach Anna Howle's tenure.
Tuesday's match also brings two significant individual pursuits back to Bison Hill. Rylee Unruh needs 26 kills to join the 1,000-kill/1,000-dig club, while Emily Boyer enters the contest five service aces shy of tying OBU's career record.
Boyer already ranks second in program history with 2,625 assists, and Howle sits seven victories away from 450 for her career.
