SHAWNEE – Coming off the best season in Oklahoma Baptist's Division II era, the Bison and head coach
Jason Eaker revealed their 2026-27 season schedule on Monday.
The opening seven non-conference games are as good as they come. On November 7-8, the Bison play in the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame in Lakeland, Fla. Their first opponent is Cal State East Bay, the team OBU met in the "Elite Eight" last March in Pittsburgh. A day later, the green and gold battle with last year's national runner-up, Lander.
"We are excited to compete against so many quality programs in our eight non-conference games along with our 22 GAC games. If we don't have the No. 1 strength of schedule nationally, I would be surprised," Eaker said.
"Bison fans, current season ticket holders, and future season ticket holders will be in for a treat watching and cheering us on in all fifteen home games. Representing Oklahoma Baptist University as players and coaches is an opportunity of a lifetime as we pursue championships once again."
A week later, the Bison will compete against a pair of Lone Star Conference schools in Texas A&M International and West Texas A&M. Those games come at the Noble Complex on Nov. 13-14.
The month of November concludes with these matchups: at Emporia State (Nov. 21), at Washburn (Nov. 27) and a battle at home with Dallas Baptist on Nov. 28. DBU was a one seed in last season's NCAA Tournament.
Great American Conference play starts after that. Spread out over December, the Bison travel to Southern Nazarene (12/3), host Northwestern on the 5th, head to Durant to play Southeastern on Dec. 10 and round out with East Central and Southwestern at home on Dec. 12 and 17, respectively.
Before Christmas break, the Bison host Lone Star school Oklahoma Christian on Dec. 19.
The start of 2027 brings three straight road games. On Jan. 2, OBU heads to face East Central before a Jan. 7-9 swing at Harding and Arkansas Tech. Eaker's squad returns home with contests against Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello on Jan. 14 and 16, respectively, before a two-game road swing in Arkadelphia against Henderson State and Ouachita on Jan. 21 and 23, respectively.
January ends with home contests versus Arkansas Tech (1/28) and Harding (1/30).
In February, there are eight games with four on the road and at the Noble Complex. That month starts with trips to UAM and SAU on Feb. 4 and 6, respectively, as well as road contests at Northwestern (Feb. 20) and SWOSU (2/27).
As for the home games, the Bison host Ouachita on Feb. 11 before a Feb. 13 date with Henderson State. The other two contests come against SNU (2/18) and Southeastern on Feb. 25.
The Great American Conference Tournament will then take place between March 4-7.
