Six Bison Garner CSC Academic Awards

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist men's track and field team earned six College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District awards on Tuesday.

Dwyane Fleming, Josh Kearse, Hudson Cunningham, Ayo Toritsju, Damien Williams and Maddox Motley qualified for the honor. It marks the second straight year that OBU has put six student-athletes, the CSC nomination limit, on this list.

To qualify, a student-athlete must have been of sophomore standing, possess at least a 3.50 grade point average and had a top-50 regional standing in a single event (indoor or outdoor) or top-50 effort at a NCAA Cross Country regional. Below you'll find info on OBU's winners.

Fleming, Management (1): Not only did the junior take home Men's Most Valuable Athlete at the GAC Outdoor Championships, but he also earned four First Team All-American certificates during the NCAA Championship. Fleming took top national honors in the 100- and 200-meter dash events as well as on the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Kearse, Exercise Science (2): He posted a regional mark of No. 21 in the 1,500 (3:54.90) attained at Arkansas' John McDonnell Invite. Kearse also took home All-GAC Honorable Mention accolades in the same event during the GAC Championship in May.
