NORMAN – Oklahoma Baptist's
Maddox Motley delivered the team's best overall effort on Friday during the John Jacobs Invitational.
During the javelin throw, Motley earned runner-up accolades with a throw of 60.64 meters. That not only was a personal-best, but it also met NCAA outdoor qualifying standards.
OBU's only other top-three finish came from the team's 4x400 relay.
Brian Washington,
Miles Reaux,
Ethan Vandevier and
Kanan Miller took third in that event, crossing the finish line in 3:26.47.
After that,
Emery Crayton took fourth in the 5,000 (15:13.24) while
James Hollis PR'd in the shot put and finished in fifth (13.25m). In another field event,
Matthew Werschem posted a personal-best and fifth-place mark in the hammer throw (54.82m).
Rounding out the team's top efforts was
Wyatt Willoughby's fifth-place effort in the discus throw, reaching 47.27m.
Also of note,
Braxton Ferguson PR'd in the 800-meter run (1:59.00) and
Kasen Taylor ran a personal-best 4:12.33 in the 1,500. Furthermore,
Hudson Cunningham took sixth in the 5,000 (15:23.25) and
Auston Bundy claimed eighth in the triple jump (12.86m).
