RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist center
Erik Madrid was named Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
It's his second career honor, both of which have come this season.
During last week's two wins over Northwestern and East Central, the 7-foot-2 sophomore compiled 20 rebounds, four blocks and a steal. On the glass, 16 of those boards were on the defensive side.
Madrid and the Bison return to action as the top seed in the GAC Tournament on March 5 at 5:45 p.m. against Henderson State in Fort Smith, Ark.
