SHAWNEE – Over the last two days, Oklahoma Baptist's men's track and field teams competed at the Oklahoma Classic and Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Invite.
On Friday in Missouri, the team finished in 11th of 14 schools. Among the highlights,
Ethan Vandevier took fifth place in the long jump with a performance of 6.65 meters (21-10.0). That was a personal-best for the junior.
In the high jump competition,
Nathan Goodson earned sixth place with a jump of 1.91 meters (6-3.25).
After that,
Braxton Ferguson and
Dustin Jennings each finished in eighth in 800-meter and 600-yard run competitions. Ferguson clocked a 2:05.22 while Jennings completed in 1:19.44.
Also of note,
Kanan Miller's 53:42 time in the 400-meter run was a personal-best.
On Saturday,
Matthew Werschem competed in the weight throw event and took 14th with an effort of 16.44m (53-11.25). Furthermore,
Wyatt Willoughby threw 13.88m (45-6.50) in the shot put.
Next Friday the 13th, the team will return to action at Pitt State's Gorilla Classic.
