RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Christian Hodge of the seventh-ranked (NABC) Oklahoma Baptist men's basketball team earned Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.
It's the second time the freshman from Houston, Texas has won the award.
During three Bison wins last week, Hodge pulled down 21 rebounds, blocked five shots and notched seven steals. His best overall performance was against Southwestern Oklahoma State when he had eight boards, two blocks and three steals.
With his efforts, the Bison won the GAC Regular Season Championship and clinched the No. 1 seed for the conference tourney next week.
This season, the elite defender ranks third in the GAC in blocks (29) and steals (49) and is slotted 22nd with 131 rebounds.
