PITTSBURG, KS – The Oklahoma Baptist women's track & field team attained several NCAA qualifying standards over the weekend at Pitt State's Gorilla Classic.
In field events,
Altyn Bartley earned a provisional mark in the shot put. She tossed 14.18m (46-6.25) which was good for fifth place.
During track events,
Olivia Tate PR'd and notched a fourth-place NCAA qualifying mark in the 60-meter dash. She crossed the finish line in 7.61 seconds.
Asia Foster followed with another NCAA mark in the 400-meter dash. She took runner-up honors with a time of 54.22.
OBU's other qualifying finish came in the 4x400 relay.
Bianca Gleim,
Bella Driver,
Favour Okoye and Foster took third place in that event with a time of 3:44.12.
There were a few other good marks for the Bison women. Bartley took fifth in the weight throw (17.08m) while the distance medley team of
Trista Etheridge,
Lauren Crouch,
Mekenzie Lyda and Driver took sixth in that event (12:16.14).
There were also a trio of other top-10 placements for OBU.
Jacey Hammon took ninth in the high jump (1.63m) while
Skylar Myers finished ninth in the long jump with a personal-best 5.62m.
Furthermore,
McKayla Schmitt PR'd in the 5,000 (18:02.57) while
Kiara Stallin earned a personal-best in the weight throw (15.70m).
Next weekend, OBU will compete at OU and the Boston Last Chance Weekend race.
