EMPORIA, Kan. – Oklahoma Baptist freshman
Trista Etheridge won her heat of the 800-meter dash on Friday during the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
With a time of 2:08.33, the fifth-best mark of all participants, Etheridge will move into Saturday's championship race which will take place at 5:25 p.m.
OBU's 4x400 team also competed on Friday. Etheridge,
Favour Okoye,
Asia Foster and
Bianca Gleim earned 15th place, completing the race in 3:59.14.
Tomorrow, in addition to Etheridge,
Altyn Bartley will compete in the finals of the shot put (12:30 pm) while
Jacey Hammon and
Jamora Horace take part in the high jump (3:15 pm).
