RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the second time this season and third of his career, Oklahoma Baptist men's basketball player
Terry Coner Jr. was named Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
His two-game performance last week against Arkansas Tech and Harding was quite impressive. The Birmingham, Ala., native tallied 58 points. That's the second-best, two-game scoring output in OBU's D2 era.
Coner Jr. scored a career-high 36 versus ATU before pouring in 22 against Harding. He shot 45.2 percent from the field, 44 percent from downtown and made roughly 76 percent from the charity stripe. The shifty, 6-foot guard also contributed seven assists.
This season, Coner Jr. ranks within the top-10 of the GAC in 13 different categories. Included in that is the second-best scoring average (19.9); fourth-most assists (49) and eighth-best field-goal percentage (46.3).
