Four Bison Named WGCA All-American Scholars

SHAWNEE – Four Oklahoma Baptist student-athletes – Gimena Errecart, Marta Romero Crespo, Rylie Spaulding and Sam Lehr - were honored as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars on Monday.

OBU's total of four surpasses the previous two seasons which brought three award-winners. For Errecart, Lehr and Spaulding, they are now two-time honorees while Crespo earned her first.

There were 403 programs recognized, which included 1,499 collegiate golfers. To qualify, a student-athlete had to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and played in 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

"WGCA All-American Scholar is one of the highest academic honors in collegiate golf. I'm incredibly proud of these four young women – not just for how they compete on the course, but for the discipline, character, and consistency they show in the classroom. They embody what it means to be a true student-athlete," Head Coach Mike Manlapig.
