SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist Football program announced the hiring of Kwesi Mashack as its linebackers coach for the 2025 season.
A native of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., he comes to Bison Hill after spending the previous two seasons at fellow Great American Conference institution East Central University.
While in Ada, Mashack coached safeties and helped mentor Jimmy Pitts, who led the GAC with five interceptions in 2023. Plus, Mashack helped ECU's secondary to a top-15 NCAA finish in passing yards allowed per game during that same year.
Furthermore, Mashack mentored All-GAC selection Tavare Smith Jr. who led the league in passes defensed last season.
Prior to ECU, Mashack spent the 2022 campaign at Illinois College, serving as wide receivers coach. During that season, he helped coach a pair of all-conference wideouts, including one All-American, and aided the team to a 6-4 record.
During his playing days, he was on scholarship at the University of Arizona from 2014-18. At one point in his career, he was named team captain. Mashack earned his bachelor's from Arizona in 2018 before gaining his Master's from ECU last year.
