EDMOND – Oklahoma Baptist junior
Sam Lehr paced the Bison over the two-round Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational the last couple of days at Kickingbird Golf Club. The tournament was hosted by Southern Nazarene University.
OBU finished in 14th place overall while GAC competitors Southwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Arkansas claimed the top two in the standings, respectively.
During the opening round, Lehr started with three birdies and a pair of pars through the first six holes. By the end of the first round, the San Angelo, Texas native was six-over (76). Then on Tuesday, Lehr did par 10 of the 18 holes, but bogeyed a few and ended plus-eight (78).
Lehr's two-round total of 154 slotted her tied for 26th.
Sophomore
Josefina Serres Scheffer delivered OBU's next best finish. The Argentinian placed 37th with four other players. Scheffer pared 11 of the 18 first-round holes before securing nine of the same sort in round two. She finished with a total of 157.
Gimena Errecart and
Morgan Simmons were the Bison's third and fourth scorers in Edmond. Through the first round, Errecart did fairly well, shooting a six-over 76. However, her second round didn't go as planned and she finished with a total of 162, good for 57th. As for Simmons, she shot 11-over and 12-over, respectively, and placed 59th.
Rounding out OBU's scorers was
Marta Romero Crespo who finished in 74th.
Also, the Bison employed their entire squad during the invitational.

Next on the schedule for the green and gold is the Emerald Coast Collegiate Classic in Miramar Beach, Florida from March 9-11.
