DESTIN, Fla. – The Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team, going against a field of 18 schools, including five, top-25 ranked Division II programs, turned in an incredible final round on Tuesday and ended up in 10th place at the Emerald Coast Collegiate.
The 54-hole tournament was hosted by the University of Missouri – St. Louis. For the Bison, it was their best performance of the season and their third-round effort was the reason why.
Morgan Simmons was the top Bison, finishing in a tie for 24th place. Her first- and third-round performances were very solid. She was plus-three (74) in the opening round before firing a one-over par (72) in the third. During Tuesday's final round, she pared 15 holes and birdied another.
OBU's next-best finisher was
Marta Romero Crespo. The freshman shot one-under par (70) in the second round before a two-over par (73) round in the finale. Over the last 32 holes for Crespo, she was even-par.
Following
Gimena Errecart's tie for 48th performance,
Josefina Serres Scheffer's efforts were monumental for the Bison. The Argentinian went four-over par during the final 36 holes including a third-round, one-under par (70). She ended up in a tie for 53rd place.
Rounding out OBU's performers was
Rylie Spaulding who finished in a tie for 94th.
