SHAWNEE – Bison Baseball is back on the Hill for a Friday afternoon matchup against the Roadrunners to kickstart a four-game weekend series for the 2025 home opener.
After opening up the 2025 campaign on the road, OBU Baseball is set to make their home debut on Friday as the Bison face the Roadrunners with a 3 p.m. first pitch.
Saturday will see a double header beginning at 1 p.m. and Sunday's action will be moved to 12 p.m.
A tough run in Edmond at the UCO Festival saw the green and gold open up the season with a pair of losses, but the Bison took care of business in the final game of the weekend, taking down Northeastern State with a 13-5 final.
In his first year at OBU,
Lucas Schaefer has made his presence known leading the green and gold with two home runs, racking up a slugging percentage of .833. Schaefer has also totaled four RBI so far this season.
Keenan Morris and
Jaxon McAuliff also joined the homer club with one-a-piece while McAuliff sits at four RBI on the season.
Jacob Campbell leads the Bison with a batting average of .375 with one double and a slugging average of .500.
DJ Van Atten leads the team in doubles with a couple on the season while
Matt Marsic has the lone triple so far on the season.
Bryant Thornton had a phenomenal outing in the most recent game for OBU, claiming his first win of the season. With two appearances, Thornton has totaled 5.0 innings on the bump, compiling eight strikeouts, while giving up one hit and one run. Thornton holds an opponent batting average of .067.
The Roadrunners are sitting in a similar boat with a 1-2 record after opening up the at the same tournament in Edmond.
MSU Denver fell short in their opening game to Emporia State with a 7-4 final. The Roadrunners defeated UCO with an 8-4 win to even out there record but the final game of the tournament saw Pittsburg State defeated MSU Denver with an 11-2 ending.
Joey Adge leads the Roadrunners with a batting average of .429 and a slugging percentage to match. Erubiel Ortiz leads the team in RBI with three, while posting a batting average of .385.
Cam Yuran is one of two Roadrunners in the homer club with a couple to show so far this season. Easton Amundson joins Yuran, leaving the yard once.
Nolan Livsey posts a 3.00 era with a 1.17 WHIP. In 6.0 innings on the mound, Livsey has totaled six strikes while giving up three walks, two runs and four hits, with an opponent batting average of .182.
