RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist guard
Terry Coner Jr. earned Great American Conference Player of the Week accolades on Monday.
The junior from Birmingham, Ala., was awfully impressive at the Pittsburg State Classic, when he helped lead OBU to two wins.
He scored 48 total points, handed out seven assists, shot 53.1 percent from the field, 85.7 from the foul line and dished out seven assists. Coner Jr. also did a fine job defensively, totaling eight steals and two blocks.
The 6-foot guard's best scoring game was against Pitt State when he tallied 26. That included making eight free throws.
This season, Coner Jr. is the GAC leader in scoring (21.3), is ninth in field goal percentage (52.5) and has the sixth-most steals (9).
Oklahoma Baptist, 4-0 for the first time in the NCAA Division II era, returns to action on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. when it hosts Emporia State.
