SHAWNEE – Three Oklahoma Baptist student-athletes were named to the All-Great American Conference Volleyball Team on Wednesday, led by
Rylee Unruh's First Team recognition.
Unruh's selection marks the seventh straight season that the Bison program has put someone on the All-GAC First Team. In addition to Unruh, setter
Emily Boyer earned Second Team honors while senior libero
Karsyn Hunter was named to the Honorable Mention squad.
At outside hitter, Unruh was one of the most reliable players in the GAC. She was second in aces per set (0.47), third in kills (3.17) and third in points (3.88). The Lawrence, Kansas native registered 11 double-doubles too, highlighted by a 23-kill, 24-dig performance in the regular-season finale at East Central.
For Boyer, she paced the Bison offense with 637 assists and a 6.50 per-set average, which ranked sixth in the league. The Choctaw, Okla., native also notched a program single-season record 50 aces, which led the conference. Boyer attained 12 double-doubles as well and aided the defense with a 2.55 digs-per-set mark.
Hunter was OBU's primary libero. She ranked sixth in the conference with 461 digs and averaged 4.80 per set. A native of Forney, Texas, Hunter reached double-digit dig totals 23 times including a career-best 31 at East Central on Nov. 13.
