RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist sophomore kicker
Carter Lowry was voted as the Great American Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week on Oct. 20.
The honor, his first, comes after a record-setting game at East Central on Oct. 18.
In the first quarter, he rewrote the OBU record book, connecting on a program-best 53 yarder. That topped a 51-yard field goal by Prentiss Mooney in 1924.
Lowry also added two more field-makes and finished 3-for-4 for the game.
This season, the Norman, Okla., native ranks second in the GAC in field goal percentage (72.7) and makes per game (1.14). Those marks are also top-33 in Division II.
