SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist sophomore
Patrick Maxwell took home Great American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors on Monday.
The award, his first, comes after he delivered in both the punting and field-goal kicking operations during the Bison's 20-10 victory over East Central on Sept. 28.
A native of Georgetown, Texas, he punted six times for 248 yards, a 41.3-yard average, and pinned two inside the 20-yard line. One of his boots went for a career-long 54 yards.
As for his field-goal attempts, Maxwell made two including a career-long 43 yarder. Plus, he converted two extra points.
This season, Maxwell ranks fifth in the GAC with five punts inside the 20 and fourth with three punts of at least 50 yards. Furthermore, Maxwell's five made field goals are one off the GAC lead.
