WACO, Texas – For just the second time in the NCAA Division II era, the Oklahoma Baptist football team received votes in the American Football Coaches Association Poll. OBU, which went 6-5 last season, received 11 votes.
The only other occasion that OBU garnered preseason votes was heading into the 2021 campaign.
To boot, head coach
Chris Jensen's squad was the only D2 school in Oklahoma to make the initial AFCA poll.
Among the Great American Conference, Harding was slotted No. 1 while Ouachita checked in at No. 19. Plus, Henderson State and Southern Arkansas collected 56 and 24 votes, respectively.
The Bison are 24 days away from kicking off their season. On Sept. 5, they'll visit Arkansas Tech.
