LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its recipients of the 2024 Team Academic Award and the Oklahoma Baptist Bison were honored.
To be recognized, teams needed to maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. For last year's Bison squad, they generated a GPA of 3.701.
"It was an amazing year for our team, both on the court and in the classroom," Head Coach
Anna Howle said. "I couldn't be prouder of the effort our ladies put in."
There were more than 1,400 collegiate and high school programs that earned this honor, an AVCA record.
On top of this team award, there were four Bison that garnered individual College Sports Communicators Academic All-District accolades:
Avery Hellmuth,
Maci Langford,
Rylee Martin and
Jenna West.
