2024 Bison Volleyball Schedule Announced

SHAWNEE – The reigning Great American Conference champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier Oklahoma Baptist volleyball team released its 2024 schedule on Friday.

The campaign features 12 home matches and 27 total contests. Opening competition starts in Pensacola, Fla., when OBU travels to West Florida's SpringHill Suites Invitational on Sept. 6-7. That marks the third straight season that the Bison will have competed there.

A weekend later, Sept. 13-14, head coach Anna Howle's team will host its own invite. A pair of matches on the 13th come against Cameron and Texas-Tyler before a Saturday date with McKendree.

After that pair of weekend tournaments, the Bison will host their first Great American Conference match on Sept. 17 against Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Following that quick hiatus from non-conference competition, OBU will finalize its non-league schedule with four matches locally.  From Sept. 19-21, there will be contests against Newman, Central Oklahoma, Midwestern State and Arkansas Fort Smith between the towns of Edmond and Bethany.

What follows for the green and gold is its GAC schedule. Rounding out the month of September is a road date with Southwestern Oklahoma State (9/26) and a home affair with Southern Nazarene (9/28).

The month of October brings nine total matches, five of which will take place inside the Noble Complex. On Oct. 3, the team welcomes Northwestern Oklahoma State followed a week later against Ouachita (10/10). A day later, the Bison will face off with Henderson State, a team the Bison defeated in last year's GAC Tournament Final.

Rounding out October's home matches are Arkansas Tech and Harding on the 24th and 25th, respectively.

In November, there are four matches for OBU: Nov. 4 at home against SWOSU, the 7th at Southern Nazarene, East Central on the 12th and at Northwestern (11/14) to close out the regular season.
