RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Anisha Henderson was named the Great American Conference Field Athlete of the Week after dominating the long and triple jump events at the Ford Mastin Twilight last weekend, the league announced today.
It her first recognition from the GAC this season and the third of her career.
Henderson took top honors in the long jump with a season-best leap of 6.04m (19-9.75). It is the furthest leap in the conference and ranks 14th in Division II.
The Plano, Texas, native added another win in the triple jump after reaching a season-long 11.69m (38-4.25). The mark ranks third in the GAC.
Since starting outdoor season, Henderson has racked up four wins and five top-two finishes.
The Bison return to action this week with trips to the 114th Drake Relays and Texas Tech's Corky/Crofoot Shootout.
