BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team turned in a sixth-place finish at the Great American Conference Championship after shooting a 38-over 326 in the final round at the Forest Ridge golf course.
The Bison posted rounds of 323-325-326 across the three-day tournament, totaling out at 974 (+110). Henderson State fired 56-over par to claim top honors, while Harding (+68) and Southwestern Oklahoma State (+69) rounded out the top three clubs.
Morgan Becker led the green and gold in a tie for 22nd after shooting her best round of the tournament in her last go-around. She shot a 7-over 79 today, which included two birdies, to finish 24-over par for the event.
Additionally, Becker paced her squad in par-4 scoring (4.40) and birdies (6).
Gimena Errecart and Morgan Simmons finished two strokes of one another, led by Errecart's 246 (+27). The Argentina native fired 79 (+7) on her final 18 holes, which featured a team-best finish on the front nine (+3), and claimed 26th overall. Simmons wrapped up the tourney with a 12-over 84 to finish 27th (29-over).
Rylie Spaulding placed in a tie for 28th with a final card of 30-over par and a 12-over 84 in the third round. Spaulding began the event with a 78 (+6) and in a tie for 13th before falling a few spots to claim her final position.
Josefina Serres Scheffer shot back-to-back 88s in the first two rounds before being substituted by Sam Lehr today. Lehr registered a 15-over 78.
