SHAWNEE – Flora Dupans broke her school record in the shot put at the Ford Mastin Twilight this week, headlining the Oklahoma Baptist women's track and field team's efforts.
Dupans took second place with a throw of 14.38m (47-2.25), a heave that ranks 21st in DII. A week ago, she broke the program's record that stood since 2015.
The sophomore added another second-place nod in the discus with a toss of 45.37m (148-10), behind Jade Byrd's winning throw of 46.25m (151-9). Byrd also drew a win in the hammer with a hurl of 51.46m (168-10).
In the long jump, Anisha Henderson's season-best leap of 6.04m (19-9.75) earned an NCAA provisional and resides as the 14th-best mark in DII. Also competing in the event was Elisabeth Jones, who charted a personal-best jump of 5.60m (18-4.5) for runner-up honors.
Henderson added another first-place finish in the triple jump after reaching 11.72m (38-5.5).
Jamora Horace claimed second place in the high jump with a clearance of 1.66m (5-5.25) and leaped 10.62m (34-10.25) in the triple jump for third place.
Zoee Weaver rounded out the field notables with a second-place finish in the javelin (32.18m; 105-7).
Kelechi Christian won the 100 meters in 11.74, which met the DII provisional standard. Olivia Tate trailed in second at 11.96. Additionally, Christian placed second in the 200 meters, ahead of Tabitha Sparks' time of 25.25 that finished fourth.
Jones picked up wins in the 100m hurdles (14.37) and 400m hurdles (1:05.36), while Delaney Riekert took top honors in the 400 meters (58.15).
Mekenzie Connell won the 800-meter race in 2:16.15, while Shayna Hendrix and Kimberly McKinney finished second (2:17.36) and third (2:19.57).
In the 1500m, Kaylen King out-ran her competitors to win in 4:57.27.
The 4x100 and 4x400 relay squads won their respective events with times of 47.00 and 3:54.84.
