RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist women's track and field member
Flora Dupans was recognized as the Great American Conference's Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
The honor, her second of her career, comes after the sophomore had a sensational weekend at Cowley College's Mark Phillips Open.
In two events, the discus and shot put, the Argentinian reached two NCAA Division II provisional marks. During the discus event, Dupans earned a runner-up finish with a toss of 48.22m (158-2). To date, that's the second-best mark in the country.
Then in the shot put competition, Dupans finished second again with a throw of 13.88m (45-6.5). That stands as the 13th-best mark in D2. Her effort there was also an outdoor personal-best.
Dupans and the rest of the Bison will return to action this coming weekend when the team hosts the OBU Invitational at Hurt Memorial Athletic Complex on March 29-30.
