SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist women's track and field team competed at the Washburn Open and Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite over the weekend.
WASHBURN OPEN
Multi-athlete Valerie Olson finished fourth in the pentathlon after compiling a career-best 3,605 points over five events. The mark also met the NCAA Provisional standard and is the 21st-best total in the nation.
Olson and three others broke the meet record of 3,497 points. She turned in personal bests in each event, led by a win in the 60m hurdles (9.03).
BRUCE LEHANE SCARLET & WHITE INVITE
Sophia Strange, the lone Bison competing in Boston, placed fourth in the 5000m at 17:00.62. It is her second top-five finish this season.
