RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the second time this season, Oklahoma Baptist senior forward
Nathan Wilson was named the Great American Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
Wilson's performance against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Dec. 12 was the key reason he won the award. On top of a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double, the 6-foot-8 New Zealander also blocked four shots. Those four swats matched the most by a GAC player this season.
Plus, he added eight boards and a steal at East Central.
This year, Wilson is the conference leader and ranks 29th nationally with 17 blocks. He is also second in the league and 23rd in Division II with 93 rebounds.
OBU's next game before Christmas break comes Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Southwestern Oklahoma State.
