FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's cross country team ran at the Division 1-heavy Chili Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas on Friday. OBU finished in 22nd place with
Maxamillian Wheeler leading the charge for the green and gold.
The senior crossed the finish line of the 8K race in 25:21.2, good for 50th place.
Freshman
Emery Crayton delivered the Bison's next-best mark. His time of 26:29.2 slotted him in 125th place. Just a few spots later,
Carson Kardokus finished for the Bison, crossing in 130th with a time of 26:32.7.
OBU's fourth and fifth point-scorers were sophomore
James Williams and freshman
Josh Kearse, respectively. Williams completed the event in 26:53.9 (158th) while Kearse finished with a mark of 27:14.6 (187th).
Rounding out the Bison effort was from freshman
Ethan Banks. His time of 28:30.0 placed him at No. 256.
Next week, Oklahoma Baptist will head to Dallas Baptist's Old Glory Gallup on Oct. 7. That will be the final tune-up before the Great American Conference Championship on Oct. 21.
