NEW ORLEANS – After placing fourth in McDonnell Memorial 8K at last weekend's Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival, Oklahoma Baptist men's cross country has risen to fifth in the latest USTFCCCA Central Region rankings.
It is the highest regional ranking in program history, and comes on the heels of a fantastic showing against some of the top Division II & Division II programs in the country.
The Bison won their first meet of the season at the Rogers State Distance After Dark (Sept. 3), and will run once more during the regular season at the Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop (Oct. 17). So far this year, OBU has tallied nine top-20 finishes in two meets, highlighted by four top-10 finishes at the Rogers State Distance After Dark.
The Bison have recorded 16 new personal bests this season, with the top performance coming from
Emery Crayton in the four-mile run at the Rogers State meet (5th - 20:27.1).
Oklahoma Baptist is currently receiving votes in the USTFCCCA National Poll, which will updated and released on Oct. 7.
A dash indicates no change from the previous ranking.
