RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist sophomore forward
D.J. Freeman was selected to the All-Great American Conference Honorable Mention team on Wednesday.
It marks the third straight season and fourth out of the last five that a Bison player made the All-GAC team.
The Midwest City native made a big jump in his second year on Bison Hill. After averaging 6.2 points per game as a freshman, Freeman nearly doubled that this season with a 12.3 mark. His 61.8 field goal percentage was fourth-best in the GAC while his 6.6 rebounds per game average was sixth-best.
Additionally, the high-flying, 6-foot-6 forward ranked seventh in the league in blocks (25). Also of note, he collected 33 steals, second-best on the Bison team.
During 26 games played, Freeman reached double figures 19 times including a career-best 23 points versus Henderson State on Feb. 5. On the rebounding front, Freeman pulled down 11 rebounds twice in games against Southwestern Oklahoma State and East Central.
