GAC Selects Leslie, Langford for Weekly Honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist's Jill Leslie and Maci Langford were named Great American Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, on Monday. The recognition comes after those two helped the Bison to wins over East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma State.

For Leslie, it's her third career honor and second offensive award. As for Langford, she now has six GAC accolades, trailing only program great Malia Leatherland (7).

Last week, Leslie contributed a team-high 27 kills and averaged 3.38 per set in the matches versus the Tigers and Savage Storm. She also hit .322.

The 6-foot-2 middle blocker's best match came at Southeastern when she registered a career-high 19 kills with .553 attack mark. At the conclusion of the two matches, Leslie moved into the top-ten of the GAC in four categories: hitting (.353), kills (2.67), blocks (0.86) and points (3.36). Heading into the final week of the regular season, Leslie is the only player in the GAC to have four, top-10 statistical marks.

As for Langford, she dialed up 50 total digs with an average of 6.25 per set. The Arlington, Texas native secured 31 at ECU before totaling 19 at Southeastern. With those marks, she extended her GAC-leading average to 4.90 per set this year. Langford now has 1,058 digs in her career, 11th-most all-time in OBU history.
