GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Maxamillian Wheeler's fifth-place finish pushed the Oklahoma Baptist men's cross-country team to a sixth-place overall finish at the DBU Old Glory Gallop on Saturday. It was the Bison's third top-10 finish this season.
Wheeler earned his placing with a personal-best time of 24:16.9, while East Central placed four in the top five to win the meet.
Up next for the green and gold was junior Carson Kardokus, whose personal best mark of 25:02.3 placed 25th. Freshman Emery Crayton trailed in 28th with his fastest time of the season (25:06.5), while James Williams claimed 58th in 25:35.8. Williams' mark was also a personal best.
Rounding out OBU's top-100 placers were freshmen Josh Kearse (81st, 26:01.9) and Ethan Banks (95th, 26:12.0). Peter Turner wrapped up the Bison's runners with a time of 26:41.6 that finished 126th.
Oklahoma Baptist will return to action for the GAC Championship in Russellville, Ark. on Oct. 21.
