RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the first time in her career, Oklahoma Baptist's
Jill Leslie was named Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The honor stems from two matches last week against Southern Nazarene and Southeastern Oklahoma State.
The Bison won each of those matches to improve their record 9-6 and 3-1 in league play.
Leslie, a redshirt sophomore from Wichita Falls, Texas, tallied 10 block assists in those contests. Four of those came against SNU before she attained six against the Savage Storm. By week's end, Leslie had averaged 1.43 blocks per set.
Of 300 players ranked, Leslie is slotted 126th in D2 and fifth in the GAC in blocks per set (0.94).
