BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team wrapped up play at the Central Region Fall Preview with a seventh overall finish on Wednesday afternoon. OBU shot 309 (+21), two strokes higher than Tuesday's 308.
Over the two-day tournament, the Bison accounted for 18 birdies, ranked third in Par 3 play (3.23 stroke avg.), and was one of five squads to sink an eagle.
Josie Patterson recorded the lone eagle for OBU, completing the tournament with the highest placing on the team. Patterson's closing round saw two birdies, giving her five for the tournament, en route to a four-over 72 finish and 18th overall placing. Additionally, she made par on 15-of-18 holes and led all competition on Par 5s with a 4.63 stroke average.
Freshman Morgan Becker jumped 14 spots on the leaderboards for a tie at 29th after shooting a team-best 75 (+3) in the final round. Becker cruised through the front nine, tallying two birdies, before making par on 6-of-9 on the backstretch.
Karlee Holcomb posted a second-round 78 (+6), matching her score from yesterday, to place in a tie for 35th overall. Lindyn Ross followed two spots behind in a tie for 37th after shooting 80 (+13).
Sam Lehr and Rylei Gunter rounded out the Bison participants at 70th and T84th.
Oklahoma Baptist returns to action on Monday, September 12, at the Annual NSU Golf Classic in Catoosa, Okla. The tournament is set to be played at the Cherokee Hills Golf Club.
