BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – Senior Josie Patterson sits in a tie for seventh overall after the first round of play at the Central Region Preview on Tuesday afternoon, leading OBU's group of six in the season-opening tournament.
Patterson shot a 73 (+2) on her first 18, highlighted by three birdies. Oklahoma Baptist ranks seventh overall out of 16 squads after posting a first-round score of 307 (+19). The Bison sunk 11 birdies, ranking fourth amongst the competition. Furthermore, OBU is sixth in Par 4's, led by Patterson's 3.90 stroke average.
Sophomore Lindyn Ross was next on the leaderboards, tied for 30th after a five-over 72 finish in round one. Ross made par on 11 holes, as well as one birdie. Karlee Holcomb is in a tie for 36th, following a run that featured three birdies, good for a first-round 78 (+6).
Freshman Morgan Becker and Sam Lehr made their OBU debuts, shooting 79 (+7) and 81 (+9) on the day. Becker sits in a tie for 43rd, while Lehr is at 53rd overall.
Rylei Gunter rounds out the Bison in a tie for 84th after posting an 89 (+17).
