SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist women's golfers Josie Patterson and Lindyn Ross have been named 2021-22 Women's Golf Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars after meeting the criteria of a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
A total of 1,485 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor as a selection to the All-American Scholar Team is one of the most admirable achievements in all of college athletics.
Patterson, a senior, will return for her final season with the Bison in 2022-23. This is the fourth straight year she has been named an All-American Scholar. Furthermore, Patterson has been recognized on the GAC All-Academic team and the Athletics Director's honor roll for the past four seasons.
In her 2021-22 campaign, Patterson competed in 10 tournaments and led the team with a 79.18 stroke average. She matched her career-low round of 73 at the Grace Shin Invitational and posted a career-high finish of 6-94 at the Newman Spring Invitational. Patterson wrapped up the season with a GAC Elite Scholar Athlete honor, becoming the first Bison to garner the recognition in school history.
Ross, a freshman, played in 10 tournaments in her debut season. She finished with a stroke average of 81.05 and shot a season-low round of 76 at the NSU Women's Classic. Additionally, Ross recorded two top-20 finishes, including a tie for the highest individual finish on the team at the GAC Championships.
17 OBU women's golfers have been named a WGCA All-American Scholar since the 2018-19 season.
