SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist and Southeastern Oklahoma State will once again meet, this time on Tuesday in a non-conference game at Bobby Cox Field at Ford Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Â
This will be the seventh time the Bison (18-16) and Savage Storm (26-12) will have played in Shawnee. OBU is 6-0 dating back to the 2017 season.
Â
These two squads met a little over a week ago with the Savage Storm claiming a hard-fought series win after sweeping the doubleheader on April 2.
Â
The green and gold were close in winning the series though. By the end of the three games, OBU had posted a .316 batting average, totaled 15 home runs and 30 RBI. The one area needing improvement: scoring with runners on second and third. Over the trio of games, OBU went 6-for-26 (.231) in that category.
Â
There were a handful of contributors in the batter's box for the Bison during the series.
Cade Kissel batted .500 while
Dan Pruitt registered a .455 average with three home runs, five hits, four RBI and 15 total bases. Additionally,
Alex Schroeder recorded a team-high eight RBI while
Jose Parga batted .400 on four hits including a home run.
Â
On the mound,
Bo Dallas was the leader. In the game one, 13-1 victory, he tossed seven innings, fanned three and got 18 combined groundouts and flyouts. Dallas also gave up just one earned run and posted a 1.29 ERA.
Â
In the other dugout, SE's Seth Morrow led the way with a .462 average on six hits including a pair of home runs. Three more batted over .400: Reid Rice, Luke Lockhert and Joseph Ramirez. Collectively, the Savage Storm batted .274.
Â
Pitching-wise, no one really stood out on the mound for SE. By the end of the weekend, the staff had posted a 10.96 ERA. Leading the way in the strikeout department were Cole Canuteson and Dylan Turner. They each tallied four.
